When Chris was nearly 16...

He snuck out the window one day and walked to a friend's house several miles away. Upon discovery, his mother picked him up and chewed him out the entire way home. So busy was she, chewing him out, that she did not see the police motorcycles that chose that moment to pull her over for speeding way too fast in order to get home. The ticket was costly to his mom, but Chris learned a valuable lesson from one of those officers. "Do not ever be somewhere without your parents knowing or you will be in the hands of the court, not your parents!" I think that must have struck a chord with him. To his mother's knowledge, he never did that again. We did not fully appreciate his unique style.

And the hair, oh the hair that caused such angst among the older generations!

And now he is a fine grown man, home from two year's service in Tennessee and learning what life is like to be a grown-up!
