Campo Verde High School Prom

When Brandon finished his freshman year at Highland High School, the school who's boundaries we live in, a new high school in our district was about to open.  Brandon had a couple of good friends who decided to make a switch and attend that high school.
Our school district has open boundaries, so as long as you are within the district, and there is space in the school, you can attend any of the schools within the boundaries providing you can get yourself there.
Each of my children chose to do this and as a result, all three of them will have graduated from a different high school when all is said and done.
When Brandon began the new high school, he was a sophomore.  The high school only had freshmen and sophomores that year, adding a new class as each year went by.  Therefore, his entire time attending CV, he was the upperclassman!
He had lots of opportunities to play all the sports he wanted and his class was small so he got to know everyone. But he made a few really good friends and it has been a great experience for him.  It was just the school he needed for success.
As the years have gone by, Campo Verde has experienced their first football game, their first varsity teams, their first homecomings and their first senior class.

The senior class is half the size of a normal one because when the school was built, those boundary changes that placed the 2012 graduates in this new school had a choice to attend the new school or stay in their current high school.  About half stayed put.
So as the first graduating class, it is half the size of the classes following it.
And I think that is just the way Brandon likes it!

And now CV is having their first prom.
But Brandon is my youngest child so while he is experiencing all the CV firsts, I am seeing the lasts of a lot.  The last senior year, the last high school sports, the last prom and the last graduation from high school.  I hope there are some college graduations to come, though.
Another
Another CV first, PROM, and another last for me.

Though there are a lot of lasts, there are also a lot of firsts and I am looking forward to those!
